Job Description
E M, [10 Sep 2026 at 1:13:47 PM]:
...The Venture & Initiatives Analyst will support the company across venture, strategy, portfolio, partnership, business development, and NextGen ecosystem work. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Venture, Company and Market Analysis
- Conduct research and analysis on ventures, companies, sectors, markets, value chains, competitors, customers, revenue models, cost structures, risks, and strategic positioning. The analyst is expected to go beyond summarising information by interpreting what the information means for the company, the venture, the partner, or the initiative.
- Outputs may include business briefs, company profiles, sector scans, opportunity notes, diligence questions, portfolio review notes, internal discussion papers, and recommendations that clearly distinguish between facts, assumptions, unknowns, risks, and next steps.
2. Strategic Initiatives and Venture-Building Support
- Support the design and development of strategic initiatives and venture-building work for companies or opportunities that the company invests in, partners with, advises, or helps develop.
- This includes helping define problems, objectives, stakeholders, assumptions, resources, constraints, proof points, decision gates, risks, and practical 30 / 60 / 90 day plans.
- The analyst should help convert early-stage opportunities into structured plans, pilot concepts, decision materials, partnership preparation, or selected venture-building actions under senior guidance.
- The role requires practical judgment: recommendations should be realistic, action-oriented, and useful for senior decision-making, rather than abstract or generic.
3. Strategy Consulting and Content Development
- Support strategy consulting and ecosystem development work by preparing structured materials such as strategy memos, concept notes, discussion papers, pitch notes, proposal outlines, briefing decks, industry scans, ecosystem maps, value-chain analyses, and client-ready materials.
- The analyst may be asked to convert raw ideas, meeting notes, transcripts, interviews, and discussions into clear, structured outputs for internal review or external use.
- The role requires balancing quality with speed: early working drafts should be shared where direction needs to be confirmed before polishing.
4. Partnerships, Business Development and Fundraising Support
- Support partnership, business development, fundraising, investor, grant, CSR, and stakeholder engagement efforts through research, stakeholder mapping, outreach preparation, call briefs, follow-up notes, pitch materials, proposal support, and pipeline tracking.
- The analyst should help identify potential partners, funders, investors, clients, portfolio companies, and strategic stakeholders; understand what they care about; identify likely concerns or objections; and help convert discussions into concrete next steps.
- The analyst must exercise judgment and confidentiality when handling external stakeholders, sensitive information, partner discussions, or potential commercial opportunities. The analyst should not make external commitments, funding representations, partnership promises, or commercial commitments unless specifically authorised.
5. Portfolio and Partner Venture Support
- Support the review and improvement of portfolio companies, partner ventures, and potential ventures by summarising updates, identifying key issues, mapping business improvement opportunities, preparing follow-up questions, tracking relevant metrics, and identifying possible strategic partners or growth levers.
- The analyst may support venture improvement work across areas such as business model refinement, market positioning, distribution, partnerships, operational bottlenecks, commercial opportunities, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
6. NextGen Ecosystem Development
- Support and help shape the company's NextGen ecosystem work, including family business, succession, next-generation leadership, identity, responsibility, capability-building, and regional community-building themes.
- This may include preparing workshop materials, discussion prompts, case studies, briefing notes, reflection pieces, ecosystem maps, participant profiles, and community engagement materials.
- The analyst may also support selected NextGen events, conversations, workshops, and follow-up activities under senior guidance.
- The role requires maturity, confidentiality, and sensitivity, as family business and succession topics may involve personal, private, or sensitive information.
